I had thought this was 'only' when using online editor's? - But you may be correct?
It is a right-royal PITA!
Trust me, as a professional wordsmith, I am ;);)

Correct, that is, not the other - well, most of the time :cool:

Hi, is this size in bytes or size in pixels? (and what are the numbers please?)

Thanks, Greg

It's probably file size Greg considering the image file would be compressed. otherwise the file would have to be partially uploaded so it's header could be read. I'ts possible to do that on the client's end too but would be a security issue that could make a client's machine vulnerable. :nerd:

Note that one "failure mode" is AFTER the entire file is uploaded and then you get "oops, something went wrong"... so the possibility that it can be pixel size, or something else exists.

I agree with you, it is probably absolute file size in bytes, but I figured to get it "straight from the horse's mouth" - as we have said in the US for some time.

Greg

I remain to be convinced it IS file-size? - I think it may be variations in the 'jpeg' files that are (probably) being uploaded?

Just my 2 cents.. Probably totally wrong? - I seem to be having a 'totally wrong' period, just now..

Just to prove it.. Maybe?

<having saved the post, the picture has 'disappeared', but I did not get a too big warning>
I realise that particular photo was ridiculously big, by the way..

Well, if it saves/shows.. It took ages to unload, then displayed, then said the 'Ooops..' message, but appears to be here. - Well, I can see it
I used the Ctrl-P option, then clicked in the box, then navigated to the picture on my machine, double-clicked, and away it went..
The original file was 6000x4000 and 17.3MB.

Hi Greg

It is file size that i have increased, the files get stored in an Amazon S3 bucket so storage isnt an issue any more, paying for the storage however is, which is what the adverts help to pay for :)

The touchpad can "trigger" by your palm brushing over it and the cursor will jump, this is a unique thing for laptops.
:nod::nod: and a constant PITA :rock::rock:

Slightly off-piste, I found out by chance that phone screens seem to be activated by heat from the finger tip. On a warm day, you can activate apps on your phone simply by the finger hovering a very small distance off the screen :nod:

Not a lot of people know that ............... :nerd::nerd::nerd::nerd:

And even more off-piste, a few decades ago while doing work for the BBC in London I had to deal with their ultra modern lifts in TV Centre. The buttons were heat sensitive and only heat sensitive. You had to use ungloved fingers to operate, no nudging with an elbow. Often I was carrying bulky items and I became quite adept at breathing on the correct button. Looked a bit strange at first but then everyone who was carrying stuff did it and it became the norm. Another example of modern not being so efficient.

The timer adjustment on our cooker is like that, takes ages to zero in on the time you want

Due to being railroaded (see what I did there?) into cooking last night...
I missed an item finishing on a certain sales site! :(:cry:

I blame SW! ;)
