Max battery voltage for a Danny Loco.

What is the maximum voltage I can run a Danny loco on?

It came with a battery holder for 8 AAs (ie 9.6v), but I would like to give it a bit more grunt, ie 14.4v from 12 AAAs

Is this possible? Will it blow the speed controller? Has anyone done it?

According to Kent Garden Railways, there is a 12 cell battery pack available for AA's so it would seem there should be no problem.
