Conductive Glue

Has anybody tried the conductive wire glue from the USA offered in the LGB section of ebay????

If so with what result?

If I remember rightly..
It has been mentioned before, and the verdict was not good.??

There are available 'pens' with a ?silver?-loaded "ink" which work quite well, a conductive pen fro PCB repairs, and (I think) a glue-like substance in a tube (fine nozzle) which work.

Things like Copper-slip, and the 'conductive' grease that LGB et al sell are not conductive from tests done by members here.
YMMV of course.

Yes it would be nice to know, G Scale section is full of the stuff.
JonD
In a word "rubbish". Did not impress Moi, but it may work on larger areas.. The only conductive glue that really works is called solder, even then......

Is that an attempt at "Dry (joint) humour" Trev? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I could do with an ebay filter to get rid of the stuff. I'm sick of the sight of it cloging up G scale.

Just put -glue in the search box while you're in the category. You can add more, e.g. -glue -bachmann

Is that why the bits fall off?
;) ;D

Now now boys. Just because nothing sticks to LGB! Tee hee

Once, a VERY long time ago, used it to repair a car heated rear window. It worked!

Ooh conductive paint looks useful. I think I need that in my modelling kit for sure, (I'll spare you the cartoon of a paint pot with a baton). :D

Why would a paint pot be eating sticks of carrot?
:o ;) ;D

I did try a while back a conductive paint pen to try and make a circuit board. Yeah all went swimmingly till I tried to solder components too it...

The 'conductive' pens are good for (say) making a track across an axle for train detection circuits..
For stock lighting, and getting power up the inside of carriages, and the like. The self-adhesive copper tape is better.. A hot iron, applied for a short time, allows you to solder to it.

It's to repair PCB tracks NOT solder to it!

Mine is a "circuit writer" and it clearly and categorically states that "When dry ( 24hrs) components may be soldered to the circuit board you have created". Unlike some of your constituents Ross I read the instructions (if all else fails)....

Going completely off at a tangent. Whats the best way of "soldering" tomato cans to make hoppers?

Empty them first!?

Seriously, isn't there a coating on the inside, so that the acid does not 'eat' the inside of the can?? This would need to be removed I reckon??
If it IS a tin (plated) can, then soldering to the tin-coating should not be a major problem.. What the 'steel' core will be like these days is anybodies guess!
