You could always shape the plasticard by wrapping around a former and immersing it in a bowl of boiling water. Here's how I formed a loco boiler and spectacle rings.

@ge_rik beat me too it.

That's the way I shaped the cab roof for the Ten-wheeler with whaleback tender.

However, I used a different method for the whaleback tender because the curvature was much greater.

Further update with the Boxcab build… I had another go at gluing the roof & had success with the super glue.

I knew this old socks box would come in handy one day, but didn’t expect it to be used to glaze windows !

Finally, I painted the roof & made it removable, then glued the exhaust pipe on top. There is plenty of room inside to upgrade battery or add additional weight if required.

I don't have a boxcab as such, nearest I can offer is two LGB Fiery Elias tram locos...

They are sort of boxy....?

The nearest I've got to a Box cab - the old IP Engineering Lollypop railcar which is now no longer available, with an Alan Bond soundcard (Also no longer available, though there is a similar version now available from scale warship.com - Combo Sound Unit Mk 3
