IP Eng L&B 3 Compartment Coach Kit

Work continues, the seats have now been covered in fabric, which I think looks better than painting, and temporally fitted. Though a nice fit, the top of the backrest is level with the windows, and will need a tweak to get the glazing in.

The chassis has a row of holes laser cut along its side, no mention of these in the build instructions, but now assembled I assume it is to fit rivets into - which is what I have done. A job that would have been easier before assembly.

That's odd, it must be a modification, mine do not have those holes, they have bulkheads between the seats

No bulk heads on this, not even in the instructions!

I know in the real world paints fade and change
The Accucraft colour is not blood and custard: rumour has it that when they scanned a coach to get the colour they used, it was a well-weathered one! Fresh IOMR red is bright -more like post office van/London bus red. I use whatever Ford colour looks right in Halfwits: Race Red, currently.

If you look at the L&B coaches they are based on they have a bulkhead between each pair of seats. At least the composite ones do. Or, every 3 windows from the side, as in - Window, door, window. Just like that ! Lines of rivets are not on sole bar, on the prototypes, but at base of each side panel and door. Ivan does have a habit of revising his kits over the years. That's why the Darjeeling kits I picked up were so cheap (as in 50% off list) Max

Yes, I find it is not quite what I expected, but happy enough with it, and at six feet. nobody will know.

My understanding is that the L&B did not have 4w coaches - which is fine, so whatever floats yer boat >:)>:)>:)

My mistake, mine are 2 compartment coaches, not 3
