Reactions?

Going back for a moment to the original reason for this thread, I have noticed that here are two ways of adding Reactions. If no one has reacted to the post already you must use the react button on the right bottom of post, BUT if some one has already reacted you can also click on their Reaction (if you agree with it) on the left. Now here is the daft bit, if they have reacted with reaction type that you cannot raise with the right-hand button, you click theirs and it will add yours to it!

Anyone for tennis?

Never done a 'Like' until now.. - I think??
Probably because I don't do Facile-Book, so ahve not been programmed to!?

I get the 'toolbar' of options, unless I double-click, which puts a like up. -If that is what happens when you single click (a Like straight away) could it be an Apple-thing? - Not sure what you use, but something rings a bell about Apple devices only needing a single-click for things??
I use my iPad and just tested it. A single Click which is what I always used to do up to just now gives me the many Actions bar for selection. A double click just gives the thumbs up!

I try to show appreciation for the work that members do and for which they are prepared to post. However, I am not adverse to being honest.

My own observations indicate that the only symbol that actually registers as a 'like' is the thumbs up 'like' symbol. None of the other symbols, no matter how complementary, register as a like on a member's tally. I stand to be corrected but that is my experience. I suppose to be politically correct we need to have a negative symbol for something we do not like but all the rest appear to be unnecessary and meaningless. If you genuinely like something and want to show your appreciation I would suggest sticking with the thumbs up 'like' symbol and ignore the others.

If you go to "Your Profile" you get a list of all the reaction given and received, Positive, Negative or Neutral.

Correct, but the point I am trying to make is that only the thumbs up 'like' symbol apparently increases your tally of likes, found by going to the Home Page and clicking on Members.

Really? How interesting..

If I am really impressed by something, I say so..
If not, I quite often type something, then delete it before posting.. :)

David my tally is 143, however my received is 246 (profile page) (must include previous forum figure) however what you can see is 137 positive 1 negative. But really who cares!!
Mmmm, I apparently have 2 negatives - must try harder ..............
