Thanks again for your help - I expected there to be a few problems, as you imply the material isn't intended to support weight - will take a look at your link.... in the meantime here is a compromise design between the two previously posted:

I know, I will actually make a series of slide-in sections and change them between circuits so that it appears to be a much longer round trip :laugh:

a sound plan
 
The forecast has turned out to be right - sunny this afternoon, so no excuse, I've started to construct the second pond crossing (loosely based on the Niagara Falls Whirlpool bridge)

Been busy building the tunnel section today - whole new meaning to 'Box' Tunnel.... must get some mirrors in place for IKB's birthday!

Decided to use some off-cuts from my trackbed treated timber for the sides & roof.... taken on board a previous thread about arms length access:thumbup:

Then painted with creosote and shrouded in plastic before entombing the lot... more pics to follow whilst the weather holds!

This is the current state of construction.... need more soil & rocks so went back to the suspension bridge

until I ran out of plasterer's mouldings....

What you can't hear is the cheapskate sound system actually working: whistle and bell tracks from some YouTube clips...
must upload a bit of video footage.
