Hi, nice to see you on the forum. Plenty of good advice and expertise here but also some that will warn you of dire humour - just ignore them.
So oh dear another one bitten by the G bug although the 'all my other scales' is intriguing.

Welcome Aboard idoallthescales79. Going outdoors is a big change than indoors. For a long straight run you will have track expansion/shrinking issues and I used the LGB expander on my 40 foot straight. I also leave some space for curves to expand/shrink as here in Massachusetts I get temperatures from slightly below zero to over 100 and the rails are too hot to touch.

Hey Martin!
This is a Hillbilly G-scaler just north of you in the mountains of East Tennessee. The land here is so steep that all of the cows have legs longer on one side.
Looks like we have something else in common: photography. I go mostly for wild critters,sunrises, and what ever I find in the Smokies. I don't post any photos on this web. Just display them on a big screen TV in my home.
G-scale trains and photography are just two of my (too) many hobbies. Kayaking, hiking, woodturning, and pyrography just to mention a few.
In regard to my trains, I'm a member of the Knoxville Area Model Railroders. We run trains every third Sunday of the month at the Oak Ridge Children's Museum in Oakridge TN. 1-4 PM.
We also have a Holiday G-Scale run on Friday and Saturday evenings through Christmas.
Enough of this BS. Just wanted to say hello from one G-Scaler to another.
