Hi Everyone,

Decided it was time to spend some money and invest in the latest forum software.

Everything has been carried over from the last software, and its even fixed some very old posts that were lost a few years ago !

This is much easier to use, especially with attachments.

There are various help pages on the site, so if you get stuck have a look at the help guides (at the bottom of every page there is a help link)
 
Well, it certainly looks a bit different!
Just need to do some exploring now to get used to the new layout.
 
Noticed that after I have looked at a 'New Post', it then disappears and I can no longer see it....
 
Despite my earlier grump elsewhere I does look quite nice. The old site always shut my Android browser down at random moments. have to see if this is an improvement. Looking on Chrome/Vista right now. was thrown a bit about the similies till I re-read it.......Oh ! Smilies. Thought is was going to give me some repeatable ones for how I initialy felt :blush: Still no working spoolchecker.
Edit - my browser, Chrome on Android, still does not like this site. Keeps on shutting down the browser nearly every time I try to navigate this site. Only site that does it. What is the issue here

Ahh I just found that it's now Conversations!

Yep - just found it myself. I wanted to check if a message I sent this morning was OK but can't see where to find 'sent' messages. I saw though that if I reply to an existing message it adds itself to that 'conversation'. So I sent another message just in case.

A very quite different appearance, in fact I thought I had got off at the wrong station. :grin:

It has a very 'clean' appearance and I guess we shall soon get used to the new look.
 
I had been building a list of 'unread' threads, which was my take on a 'useful / go back to' list of threads..
I presume I will have lost this? - It appears the new system does not know what I had read in the old software??

The site is very impressive.

It will be fun finding my way around.

Now that's interesting. Normally, when I reply to a thread and go back to recent posts, the thread to which I've just replied is there (reassuring me that I did it right). Under 'New Posts' it doesn't show the thread I've just replied to. Had to go and check my 'recent activity' that my reply had been posted.

'Recent posts' and 'new posts' isn't quite the same thing. On the old software I was using 'new posts' and got the same result.
