I ran the locomotive light engine for a couple of hours straight from the box with no problems. I then ran the locomotive for eight hours with various consists, again without any problems

Phil, I haven't tried rechargeable batteries yet, that is planned for tomorrow. As I posted in post #5 the locomotive ran at a scale 8mph for 10 hours.Excellent!
I will be interested to see how long the batteries last?

Alan, it took the locomotive 6 minutes to do a full circuit of the railway. Nice to watch.That's a fine speed for a small industrial, isn't it.

Anybody know what the tab is at the back of the cab? It looks like a blade male electrical connection.

That may reduce some when you RC it, but still probably enough for a days running for you.Boulton ran yesterday using rechargeable batteries. Ten hours running at a scale 8mph hauling six wagons and a brakevan. Not bad at all and will be more than enough for a normal running session.
