I just ran into this beautiful locomotive on FB which was run on local Dutch railways.

I wonder if there is anything ever made in 1/22.5 that is close to this design?

Closest you may find is an LGB Corpet, but that is an 0-6-0 and certainly none in midel form have appeared in that livery. Plus it was a Metre Gauge Loco, this one looks Standard Gauge to me.

It looks to me a very "British" loco, which is likely as I think a lot of Dutch stock was made in the UK.... you might find something similar in 16mm, but it's most likely to be live steam.....

Alternatively, a scratchbuild project in plasticard on a suitable 4-4-0 chassis?

@JonD, the LGB 2078 is rising on the want list, actually it is on the no. 1 position right now...

You are correct about the standard gauge, that is very true and sadly not suitable on my railway (I have to draw the line somewhere!)

Might be worth looking at the chassis from early American steam locos.... a fair number of them seem to have had wheel arrangements like 4-4-0.....

Again Standard Gauge but very pretty. Very interesting early picture at Horstead Keynes, note the third rail still in situ.
