HGLW Gordon kit

I've built the HGLW kit that I bought last year and it made a nice week project. Most of that time was waiting for glue or paint to dry. Tools used were a knife, sanding block, pva glue mostly with a few mods to the electrical setup so it wasn't attached to the body too.

It's got the 4w drive chassis but it's a bit tight so I've gone back to 2wd and I would use a Delrin chain rather than band drive if I do another.
Super little kit that almost falls together. :)

One evening to build the chassis.

Day two
Two primer coats then yellow on the bufferbeams followed by a black topcoat.
In between I assembled the body.

Day three saw multiple coats of primer followed by sanding and I built an extra cradle for the batteries and switch, the only mod to the kit.

Thanks, it's yellow is inspired by the MOD locos at the local RNAD depots (now closed) like Dean Hill, Chilmark and, the namesake of this machine, 'Dinton'.
Yeah, the only time I went to Dean Hill there were no trains running - disappointment. Mind you, I was meant to be doing an audit :eek::eek:

Looking great!

When I built a few Busted Bricks wagons a few years ago (they're now sold by HGLW) I fitted Bachmann wheels for smoother running, and played around with a rusting effect kit. Was quite pleased with the results!

In the interest of inclusion, and diversity, should you not have a second load? - This should have a wobbly bottom, and by stencilled 'ROCKER'!
:clap::clap::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Took this photo at the Bredgar and Wormshill railway in 2012. It was the inspiration for the end-boards I fitted to my rusty wagon as in the earlier photo.
