Built on raised beds with reclaimed railway sleepers. There will be a 8ft x 12ft shed at the slabbed end and the double track mainline will complete the loop by running into and out of it. This will act as stock storage when not in use. I have created a tunnel through either side of the steps retaining walls and the track runs across a reconfigured step.

Well done - looks like you'll have an excellent railway.

Wow so very neat to nicely match your new house. Will naturalise nicely with time. Only issue that I have is the step that could be a little tricky with two tracks. Yes I know that it is elephunt proof but would be nice if you could make it so that the tracks are in some sort of a grove. Possibly overlay the existing flags with thinner ones either side of the tracks? Thinking hats on guys n gals.

I have to agree with the wow, but also the tracks on the step, my other half can trip over anything, and either embedding the tracks or raising the surrounding areas may well help prevent any impending disaster.

Need to get more ballast to finish off track. The double track where the steps are is recessed as the slab is in two, with the slab that the track is on being set lower by about 10mm. Once ballasted across the steps then they will pretty much be flush. Ballast over the steps will be mixed with cement products and applied dry and once set will be pretty solid. Then just waiting for shed in a couple of weeks!

Fantastic work! I like how you did the step. You can see the recess you mentioned in some of the closer pics. I may very well do something similar in the future of the LHRR.

Looks awesome! Do you have a photo of the stairs since laying ballast? I'm interested to see how they look.
