Tuxcraft Viaduct

Hobo

Narrow Gauge Railways
Hi guys, has anyone got either a curved (prefered) or straight (would make do) viaduct from the good people at Tuxford lying redundant?

Typically, now I want one, they're no longer in production:thumbdown: (and they're sold out "in the yard" too :()

I'll keep my fingers crossed........................................

Have you considered the Cain Howley version? A much better moulding IMO and more flexible too as it's made from individual components.

gotta agree with mell, the Cain Howely is miles better

I totally agree with the above statements - my current plan is to site the viaduct on the "blind" side of the return loop, so the one piece Tuxcraft offering would be more convenient.
If I have to fork out the extra cost of the Cain Howley ones, the exspence and better looks will mean changing tack and putting 'em "at the front" :)

If I wasn't doing this in the middle of winter, I'd probably have a go at casting my own......................

"been there,got the T shirt:rolf:"

Very Grand:bigsmile:

Even though the weather is unseasonably mild at the moment, I just know that as soon as I put the shuttering up and mix the concrete we'll get a "cold snap"

Mix it with hot water, at about 15 degrees and cover it afterwards, and you'll probably get away with it.

Remember the water in concrete is there for a chemical reaction, not to evaporate

Hi all, hi Hobo, about 3weeks ago glendale junction had a Tuxford viaduct for sale --but idont know if they still have one , might be worth acall regards Dave --

Many thanks ~ I'll get on to it :)

As for mixing the conny with hot water - my neighbours already think I'm a bit mad, so picture the scene.
White over with frost and snow/raining while I'm going up and down the garden in a veritable fog, stirring a cauldron:bigsmile: can you imagine what they'd think?

(Seriously, thanks for the tip though - I may use it on the platforms which now need re-siting!)
