Thats why I pinned and glued mine.
I used to make 4 in a tea break at work.

Hi Mr Spock
My trestle was built several years back now was made from strips of 10mm & 5mm hard wood from my local hardware store some bits were soft like balsa wood gets a coat of creosote most years the green is natural weathering , to date i haven't had to replace any wood yet .
