...it is a Centenary Car Built in 1985. Strange name for the year it was built, must be some sort of Blackpool logic in the name.

1985 was the Centenary of the Blackpool tramway system.

Another view of the scratch built/kit bashed tram on the Whiteleaf Tramway layout at the G Scale Society Solent Local Area Group Exhibition, Wickham, Hampshire, 4.11.2017. The tram body is assembled from sections of no less than four LGB Toytrain 4-wheel coaches.

Just like buses you wait for one and 3 come along together. Dipped into YouTube this morning and my feed seems to have got the DR tram fan bug. A few prototypes to be getting on with here possibly. Yes, yes, "been there done that", I here the aficionados say but all new to me. Love the monster monorail/funicular cross that pops up. Great stuff for getting the atmosphere and settings right for your layout. Do Preiser do miniature Stasi or are all their figures spying on each other ? Enjoy, Max

P.S. Hmmm, must get me a tram to run on my 009 layout.

Interesting Vids. I well remember my first trip to Austria where we stayed in Linz. The Station had Trams, old iron that had an interesting method of working. There was always a Trailer Car lurking in the Arrival Road. When a Tram arrived with a Trailer it would stop when coupled up the the lurking Trailer. When unloaded the car would propel the lurked Trailer to a Stub Siding then cross the point to the Departure Road, Load up and away leaving a new Trailer Car to lurk for the next service.

I've never seen pictures of that before :clap:

There was something odd about the Postlingberg apart from having Roman Numerals instead of conventional numbers. It is possibly one of the steepest non-Rack adhesions Lines in the World having Max grades of 10.6% and has special Pinzer Brakes to cope. Also the point work in the Depot looks somewhat odd, this may be to do with that braking or that the wheels are double flanges. I cannot remember.

Since we are just in Austria, here a piece of black viennese humor: The casket tram.
Between 1918 and 1928, and during the WW2 this wagons transported caskets from the hospitals to the central cemetery.

Some more pics that I took at the EATM at Lowestoft last September. The Blackpool and Sheffield double-deckers were providing the tram service:

Whilst lurking at the at the back of the depot was the Lowestoft open-topper (been under preservation for many years) and the London Transport HR2:

as well as the Blackpool Rail Coach:

In another part of the museum was an ex-London Transport Tug used for shunting tram (and buses) around the depot:

Don't believe me?

Aha probably on a bit of the Video that I did not get round to viewing. Was this the beast? Actually a very weird sort of Danglebahn. Dosed it in December 2011 before I joined the Steam Railway Tour that year. we went to Rungen, Berlin and Dresden before returning back to Berlin for the Trip. Which went straight to yes you guessed it Dresden!

The final pic is a Funicukla quite close to the Danglebahn. both show up on Tourist Maps of Dresden and are relatively easily reached by Tram.

A major milestone at my place of work!

Yesterday afternoon, 3006 became the first M5000 to reach 1,000,000kms.

http://https://tfgm.com/news/million

It has completed 1.5 trips to the moon and back, 25 round the world trips and god knows how many trips to Bury and Altrincham. All in 9 years.

It's not much but runs around my room. Soon I will have more space and expand the concept.
