I was just reading the mag Trams and it reminded me of odd trips to Blackpool and the Isle of Man. As these Trips were in another Century I thought that some of the pics may be of interest.

Taken in August 1969 these two images show Blackpool as many of us old timers will remember it. Greene and Creme/White with proper Trams.
7-1-1 2-8-69.jpg7-1-7.jpg
By the time of my visit in April 1974 Blackpool was getting all fized up with these monstrosities.
7-1-9 29-4-74.jpg
However you could get lucky and see something worthwhile like this Engineering Car.
7-1-10.jpg
7-1-16.jpgThis Depot List shows that here were a Couple of decent cars out on Service, but the majority of Low Numbers are like that thing above. Sorry a lot out of Focus, I was lucky to get anything with the ambient light in the Depot this day. This will be a Historical listing now!

The Isel of Man Trip was in September 1973 with in some cases little change, though I expect that many of the Cross Bench Trailers that were about are listed as in storage now.

7-1-18.jpg
Laxey with the old layout of 3 Tracks plus the Groudle Tracks to the Right. with the Siding as well the layout was much more Operator friendly than it is these days.
7-1-32.jpg
Oops Wifey 1 managed to get a look in at Douglas.
7-1-36.jpg
That siding by the Mines tavern took I think 2 cars with Trailers at least. 3ft Gauge to the Middle and Right, 3ft 6in to the left for Groudle.
7-1-22.jpg
Laxey again with the Car that seamed to Haunt me both times I visited the IOM. Love the beast now. Again L-R 3'6",3'and 3' Gauge.
7-1-25.jpg
Car with Trailer and a Van, this was a regular sight in 73 with the first Douglas Car ex Ramsey always having a Van on for Mail. this is Douglas again, sadly the Car is not recorded but more than likely 20, one of the Winter Saloons 19-22.

Its that Car again unknown location.
7-1-28.jpg
Car 1 a real surprise and must travel on, even though Wifey had been promised a break and some Lunch here at Ramsey. Sorry it is Car 1, may not be out again this Holiday!

Jon, the 3'6" tracks are up to Snaefell - Groudle Glen is a little 2 footer a bit further back down the road to Douglas.

There were still some toastrack trailers being towed around when we were out the in October 2017, although we didn't get our ride up Snaefell due to it being closed for safety breeches.

Known as 'Balloon' cars :nod::nod::nod:

August 1969 and just look at those motor cars - and the clothes :clap:

The maroon Ford Anglia model on the other side of the road with the raked rear windscreen (to keep a clear view when it's raining) had already been superseded by the Mk1 Ford Escort (with the door open and the pram awaiting its occupant) which had been in production for a year by that time.

Could be an HA Viva in front of the Escort, there's a big Austin on the further side, and the black roof could be a Morris Minor. Front left is one of Alec Issigonis' finest.

Oh yus, the trams are in Blackpool and run along the promenade of the Pleasure Beach.

Don't think the roller coaster's still there, but the trams are :nod::nod:

3’6”. Yup I said that with the pic of the Mines Tavern. The Trams Mag gives a list of all the fleet for both Blackpool and IoM in each issue. As of Sept 18 2018, of the 19 Crossbench Trailers (Toastracks to many) some 6 were shown as stored/out of service. Of the Crossbench Power Cars the fleet of 14 has 10 listed as stored/out of service. On the plus side at least they all still exist. These numbers will I will suspect reflect on the current needs to have some Open Trailers out in nice weather but a Saloon to hide in should the weather on the Isle turn bad. The service today (except for perhaps Special Events) is also nothing like as extensive as it was back in 1973. Reflecting a lower turn out of visiting Tourists to the Isle. Sad really as it is truly an idilic place to visit.

Perhaps we could have a nostalgic thread about 50,60 and 70’s cars?

Oh nice is that a Ratchet Car? Oh no thinking of Isle of Man!

Actually according to my Trusty Trams list of Blackpool cars it is a Centenary Car Built in 1985. Strange name for the year it was built, must be some sort of Blackpool logic in the name.

Hello tram modelers,
I'm ordering for g scale some new Albert coupling. I do need 30 pieces of them for my friend and for my self. If someone is interested on them, so let me know. I'll order them on the 5th March 2019. The old price was 7,00€ each. May be the new price will be a bit more. I'm not sure. I don't earn money with them. I'll buy them for the same price I have to pay fot it. + Post costs. Please allow, that the parts need a bit of time to be produced.
Also still availeble are the Düwag Logo's. They are etched steel sheet. G scale. A sheet costs 11,00€ Also a price I've paid for it. If you want only 1-10, so it will be 1,50€ + post costs.
Payment possible via PayPal.
Any questions? Feel free to ask.

Above the couplings are the ones, I will order.
The lower ones are from rs-modelle. They are a bit smaller and more difficult to run. (I will sell my old ones as well, therse ones may be more correct to 1:22,5, but not easy to use.)

To the Admins and mopderators, I tried to put it into the sales folder, but get message that says: "You must create a sale" Please feel free to delete or swap it to the sales area. - Thanks - Peter
