Had one of these (designed for a Hosentraeger crossing using TL R 90cm or R 120cm points) for a custom crossing:
251144

After reliable use for a few years it now looks like this after a visit from the proverbial LGB elephant:

Looks to be beyond my repair skills. It always was difficult to find and now its not available either. Any suggestions?

I have a Trainline Point where the screw underneath has come unscrewed, is that the issue with your crossing. If so easy to fix. If screw is lost I could post you one or two.

If you are unable to effect an adequate repair and decide you 'want rid' I can cross you palm with silver.

I s'pose the crucial question is whether the empty bit in the track layout is fillable with something else.

I'm sure the crossing can be repaired so that trains can run through it - the difficulty is that the repair may not be beautiful.

Firstly, do you need it, or can you find a substitute?

Secondly, would you allow someone to attempt a repair (given the comments above) ?

If you're desperate, I'd have a go for you :tmi::tmi::tmi:

Repairs almost complete. Just need to fabricate a replacement check rail from the side of an LGB sleeper. There were some spurious continuity readings when I checked it over with a multi-meter so I opted for a complete strip-down and rebuild. All the brasswork (including the screws) was treated to a three hour bath in a salt and white wine vinegar solution. It removed all the crud that has accumulated. The metalwork has taken on a slightly rose-coloured tint due to some of the zinc being dissolved, leaving a bit more copper on the surface. It will weather into un-noticeability in due course. I replaced one of the thin brass contact strips with a length of thicker bar to restore some of the rigidity lost when the webbing was damaged. A couple of extra fixing points were drilled and tapped and one or two screws that seemed a bit short were replaced with the Aristocraft ones with integral washer. All in all it's turned out well and cosmetically it difficult to 'see the join'. It wouldn't surprise me to get a message from Mike asking if he can have it back!

No thanks Mike, I've had to change the track plan so its no longer needed.

Very impressive repair you have done, I'll know who to ask next time ..................
