The Woodlock Line

Today I braved the loft, to do a locomotive swap. Decided to get what I thought would give the most grief on the new extension, with overhang etc. I'm pleased to say, they're all good.

If anything was going to be a problem, it was going to be the Genesis. It only just does R1, but before anyone says anything, I bought it because I liked it.

It is indeed. However, LGB are clutching at straws with their claim of R1 with this one. It simply doesn't. Not with wagons anyway, as there is not enough flexibility in the coupling, so it drags it's train off. The locomotive will do R1, just not the train coupled to it. I have however made a few modifications, or botched works that mean it can now pull trains. It is more to be used on my main line, rather than the front. It's just important to me, that all my locomotives go everywhere on my layout.

Would I buy another? No :D

F7s are a lot easier to run and enjoy. I should have got another F7.....

Used to love my 2, c1:29, scale SP "Daylight" consists. One an Aristocraft Pacific, 4 car Heavyweight consists the other a USAT F3 ABA lashup and 5 car streamliner set. Both bought from US in closeout sale deals, when US $2.20 = £1 and no import duty. And I could write off VAT, as shown as R&D on my hand built resin slot car business ledger (schtum !) Hey, I was thinking about producing garden rail items, just about same scales. Nothing below R3 with those. Then I decided to go all 15 mm and 16mm scales. Sigh Max

Great idea Duncan!

But don't forget that Ebay Mike has to get from his front door to the whistle stop beside the track to catch his train to work!

I was hoping for a natty little arched bridge across the gap, but worst case is he will have clamber over the rocks and get his suit all mussed up.

What can you do for him please?
