Not long after I'd started on the footplate, we where taking a 47 back to Warrington from Guide Bridge and got stopped at Eccles box, the signalman asked if we could drop of a package at Barton Moss, the next box and promptly handed us a cardboard box with a kittens head sticking out!! off we went with said kitten's box on the drivers desk, but by the time we got to Barton Moss it was out and wandering around the cabLovely afternoon, and a few beers too! Seth learning how to be a Signalman from the shed
That's a brilliant story! Not long after I'd started on the footplate, we where taking a 47 back to Warrington from Guide Bridge and got stopped at Eccles box, the signalman asked if we could drop of a package at Barton Moss, the next box and promptly handed us a cardboard box with a kittens head sticking out!! off we went with said kitten's box on the drivers desk, but by the time we got to Barton Moss it was out and wandering around the cabtrying to catch a cat in a 47 cab is not as easy as it sounds, hiding behind the drivers legs, under his seat, took some catching!!

Apparently you can change the songs, but I'm not technologically competent. I'd just end up with no music whatsoever.Duncan, I like the wagon with the band playing.![]()
You need to hire a 4 year old to do that sort of thing.Apparently you can change the songs, but I'm not technologically competent. I'd just end up with no music whatsoever.
Well count yourself lucky - in the driest county in England the grass has stopped growing - no mowing, and looking decidedly brownPossibly the best value item at 20 quid a piece, that LGB make. Manual signals, just for a bit of simple, scenic interest at the front garden.
The grass continues to go wild while at work..... and the bald patch caused by me is starting a recovery too.
