Stainz Locos- How many is too many

I have one that can run there are 2 in the cupboard destined for the hack and chop kitbash yard to turn them into Australian style Sugar Cane locos.
Ahhh!!!!!!!!! so much chopping to do so little time.

ha ha... normally you need a reason to do something... was wondering why having so many of the same loco? I have 3 cars and they are different, would be pretty boring having 3 of the same.

The guy down the street has 3 MGs and 4 Mustangs.

A bloke I work with has 5 ex military Land Rovers and 3 Jeeps all of different vintages and he can tell you the difference between each one even though to me they all look the same.

Its just a collector thing, they are different people.

My apologies to all collectors on here. :) :) :)

I'd like to collect a whole load of 500 Euro banknotes - wouldn't bother me if they all looked the same (as long as the numbers were different):)

That sounds a lot like rolling stock!! :giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle:

I know someone who won't buy the new release 'co-op' wagons, as they have used the same numbers..

it's a collectors thing yes I have 75 Stainz, but they all different, from 1968 originals, different years in the production run ie I have 5 brown no1 Stainz , yes they may at first glance look the same but they all have differences, different buffers, some have coloured handwheels, some had the chassis numbered, different versions of the headlight. Then you have all the specials, the aniversary locos, The 3 versions of the Blue Stainz, The christmas locos, limited runs for retailers ie the Primus loco, etc,etc

No K3 yet, got a red front 100yr been after, and now growler versions and early versions of 2010, 2020, and 2040, also have the 2010 that was released with a no2 cab when then ran out of no1's so no2 cab but with no1 boiler markings and chassis marked 2010
