Round Robin boxcar

Re: Round Robin boxcarRe: Round Robin boxcar

;) Time to move on.... been there, done that. Next call, Auckland NZ, I believe. The signwriter was a bit challenged when it came time to find space on the boxcar :o

just looked back on this thread, and by-gum the little box has certainly gone a long distance since it.s start by paul (minmans).
it must be some sort of record. at the end of it's journey i wonder if paul will put it up for auction, with the proceeds going to a charity of his choice??. what do you think. allan.

Keep forgetting to posts some detail pictures of the Boxcar and all the stuff that is traveling with it. Lots of photos, postcards, train advice, tickets etc....

It has to be the most travelled piece of LGB or any other marque for that matter, ever.

So, where else could it go? . . . . . Did I hear somewhere that the Chinese are intending a moon shot? I wonder............. :)

Well it is Auckland, NZ, now. Just need to find some of the members on the list up here. Will do some investigative work on it.

Well, I had better get going and get some track laid, before it heads offshore again.

It is going to Wairarapa to the convention in middle February then on to Christchurch. We are having a running session over the new year and then the club meeting is at my place in mid Jan. Keep me posted. ;)

A Gn15 wagon, originally owned by the late Carl Arendt, did a 'world tour' in 2011/12. It physically travelled twice around the world, visiting layouts much the same as is being done here. It was called back to NZ, mid tour, for a special event. Details can be got on Gn15.info. The thread is http://forum.gn15.info/viewtopic.php?t=7987

Well the round robin boxcar has landed in Auckland. It has stopped here and had a run around the track a few times. As it was Christmas Day yesterday I even managed to get Santa to take some time out for a ride.
:) ;)

Well done Henrik ;)

Seconded! I do find it somewhat mind-boggling that a vehicle that has run on my own line is now tootling about 12,000 miles away. This is an amazing hobby!

The boxcar has been running on our layout today. As seen in the picture our railway is called Donmurken, named after the humans that live here, namely my wife, Myself and the father in law. We are in Papakura (Auckland) NZ.

Clever picture there!

And welcome to the forum too....

Well done indeed. And I can add the Donmurken is a darn nice railway for the Boxcar to have travelled on having visited the railway at the last NZ convention :D
