Round Robin boxcar

It arrived today, took a couple of quick shots in case it rains before I get the chance to do some nicer ones!

Finally have found time to get the photos off the camera card, and on here. It's been manic here recently due to trying to catch up at work after 6 months off.

Anyway, here is, another country to tick off on it's journey!:)

'Our Mark' on the upper rail of the sliding door - there isn't much room left!

It's off to Ian in Luxembourg today if I get to the post office in time!

Looking good Neil.
I'll be in Hungary (know of two railways I could possibly get to) in August, with a stop in Vienna then briefly Cologne and Brussels. If it's about I could grab it take some piccys and post/pass it on again?

Blimey Netty, it sounds like you are trying to outdo the travels of the boxcar!

The intrepid boxcar arrived in Luxembourg from the IoM sturdily packed and was taken out for running, a damaged hook was spotted and replaced after getting the OK from the owner. It has been running happily around the railway and has had questions asked about it - surprisingly my wife remembered me mentioning it a long time ago!
Anyway, piccies from today,

At Rosenbach attached to Number 2 and awaiting the off:

So now Rob the boxcar has to continue his travels but will always be welcome back to these metals.

not so long i jumped up that thread.....nice pics and a really great idea.
And now i will be the next to host the boxcar....makes me somkind proud.

I am awaiting the wide-travelled car and hope to stick on and RR-Plate.

Interesting to see all those different pics in one thread. Great work, folks! So many fine layouts.

Greetings

Frank

I have to confess that it will take some days.

The idea of getting this world-travelling boxcar was such an inspiration for me, that i started work on the new mainline, from which i want to make the pics with the boxcar. I have set my new bridge-piles and just try to bring the round robin on the bridge.

After a difficult search in masses of paper i found my CCRR-Stickers to give round robin the CCRR-nameplate it deserves.

For more, it is badly hot theese days and the young dog...and...and....its getting hard to make some simple pics of a car... :D

Just wanted to update you.

btw.: is there a "next host"?
Where will i find the adress and name?

Greetings from Germany

Frank

P.S.:

the space for plates and names is getting rare on round robin. How shall the solution look like?
A new car?
I think i could offer a US-style stock-car....

If it helps I will be passing through Regensburg, Nurnberg and Wurzburg on my way home from Hungary towards the end of August. I will be on the sleepers from Vienna so it would be quite late at night but possibly a nifty way to get it back from Germany if there are no plans to send it elsewhere. Just a thought to stick in the pot. Pictures would be provided of course along the Rhine valley, Koln, Brussels, that long tunnel under the sea, London (could be collected) and Birmingham (could be collected).

Ooops, should've in the other thread, sorry Muns. Could a mod move this post to the correct thread please. Sorry!

Hi there,

had some stressy days, but this evening, i decided to make some fast pics without ANY further work.
I told about a hailstorm.
Robin was sent to take a look at the results.

This is one of our windows, and we had the luck that the glass behind was not damaged. We also had the luck that our roof was not damaged. Many houses arround had heavy damaged roof, windows and walls (yes, walls. even the walls have impact holes).

This ist part of my station. The retainment was blown away like in a bombing attack.

on the line beside there are many impact-craters and theres rubbish all arround the travelling robin boxcar.

This was once a bridge pile. Now out of duty and no more covered by the bridge, the hail hacked hardly on the structure...

My operation inspector took a visit to the chaos and gave robin a high-five.

Now i sticked my C.C.R.R. on the roof and will make myself "wise" about the tour to New Sealand.

Not sure if this is the right thread to discuss this - but those hailstones must have been a nightmare! Hopefully the cat was safely inside (or wearing a safety helmet!)

If this is not appropriate for this thread, maybe a new thread could be started for this discussion.

Anybody seen the boxcar lately or is it still in transit??

the RoundRobin got stuck in the "summer-hole".
First, my plans for some nice pics where shattered (with some other things) in a hailstorm after robin arrived here.
Then we went on holiday.
Lately we tried to find out what we have to do on customs to get it to new zealand.

But now, finally the label is printed, and i think we can send it out next week.

Sorry for it lasted so long, but there appeared some difficulties, we didnt expect.... &:

Hi Frank
If it's easier I can give you an address in England to post it too and I'll arrange for them to forward it on to me from there.

Hi John,

its finally done now.
As i told, the label was printed last week and tomorrow the parcel-service should take it and carry it over the big sea.
Lets hope all will be o.k. and it will arrive safe.

Greetings

Frank

Neat. I'll post as soon as it arrives. Perfect timing really as we've just ticked over into spring and the better train running weather.

The traveling boxcar is now in New Zealand. Thanks to Frank is arrived at our door safe and sound this afternoon. Pictures will follow when it gets to travel the H&MGR on the weekend (or sooner).
