A busy day today, working on the railway, after a busy week at work and rainy weather.
I've been making up some lights for the railway.
It all started one Christmas when I brought a lamp housing to fit on Mizzy's lamp-post. I fitted this the following Boxing Day.
It was cold, my fingers were numb and I had to work up a ladder, but this was the result....

The lamp housing that was originally fitted to the post was much smaller and out of proportion.
I put it aside for another day.
A couple of years ago, we visited Mr and Mrs Chuggy up in Norfolk whilst on holiday, for a running session, and he kindly gave me a small garden lamp post from his old garden. Again, this was put aside, but today, I took the square housing from the post, and fitted the old one. The reason being that the Chuggy one had a hexagonal base which matched Mizzy's old lamp. It took a while to disassemble, but after some head scratching I got it done and swapped it over, converting it to 24 volt operation in the process....
I put it aside for another day.

I've also started wiring some other lights that came from work. They were part of an emergency lights system, but the charging circuit failed and I couldn't repair it. (Another one was repaired successfully).
So I kept the box and the lights, but the batteries have been used to repair another unit. They would have otherwise gone in the skip. I do like to recycle, or re-purpose things that would have been scrapped.
I've used the box for the reverse loop modules (and eventually the point modules) and this can be seen in the 'Waiting Room'. The old lights can be seen on each side. These are 12 volt, but I will fit them with 24 volt lorry lamps, as they are basically car lights. I've made a start with wiring them up today....

It is indeed Pip!
I think we brought it at the Nene Valley Railway, or maybe the North Norfolk Railway....
I have decided on a corporate colour scheme for the LGB.
Steam locos tend to be black, although there are a couple of Stainz locos in the fleet with No 1 being brown and No 2 green.
Mainline diesel locos are mainly red.
Coaching stock is green for day to day stock, but special carriages are red and cream.
Shunting locos are mostly orange.
But my Maintenance Fleet are all yellow. This includes locos such as No 60 here and all the wagons such as these hoppers freshly outshopped from the works in corporate livery!
These hoppers are my favourite LGB wagon. I have 11 of them, the other 8 are in OEG livery....

The Double Slip to Pip's chord has been replaced with a more prototypical Diamond Crossover today.
A TL point with a faulty TL motor was also replaced at the same time....

I think the Works Manager needs to have a word with the Painter, he has out shopped them all with the same number!
Nope he got it right JD.
That's not the wagon fleet number, but the departmental telephone number....

Keter Depot with 3 trains I keep marshalled ready for use.
A log train, a container train and a rake of OEG hopper wagons.
