Since moving house a few years ago, I have been building a new layout.

Due to work commitments and illness, this has been a long time coming, but I, or we, are slowly getting there!

I hope to finish the main part of track laying this weekend, subject to some rail clamps arriving in the post.

The layout will be Massoth controlled, and I will be using Stellwerk to control the routing of trains.

Today I have done the track plan on Stellwerk....

Very good. I look forward to seeing pictures of the actual layout, and how your computer control works out.

The track starts from the back of the house. I have a pair of Keter benches bolted together down the side of the conservatory, that contains 3 rakes of freight wagons.

This is the siding area after the Keter 'depot'. The round slab is where my Heyn turntable will be located....

At the station throat, I have installed a scissors crossover. The diamond crossing is a Heyn kit....

The new part of the layout has only been built in the last couple of months.

The junction leads to either side of a double tracked return loop, which is currently a work in progress....

This is the double track loop at the bottom of the garden.

It's quite restricted so I've used R1/R2 curves, and Train Line R2 points with LGB R3 diamond crossings.

There will be a village on the top of the tunnel on the left side, which will be Mizzy's task to do. We have recycled a few things like the pond and the tunnel, as well as a few slabs.

The pond is filled with blue slate and topped with glass pot toppers to simulate water. The idea came from from Mike Duffy's canal.

The main line joins the loop from the right of the 'Waiting Room', with one double chord going underneath to join top left, and the other chord as can be seen in the photo. Trains can either enter the loop and return down the mainline, or continue round the loop and do as many circuits as you wish. I can just about get a signal from my Navigator back to the conservatory where the 1200Z is, although I sometimes have to wave it in the air as it is on the limit for reception!

As you can see, the inner R1 loop is yet to be finished as I'm waiting for some rail-clamps from Sandy Taylor....

This is how this part of the garden looked a year ago!

We had to shift the large pile of earth seen next to the wheel barrow, level the ground, then lay a weed membrane and gravel....

Have you investigated the extra sized Aerial Attachments to the Dimax from Massoth, well worth the cash. Sorted my range issues out in a flash. Only mod needed is to drill a small hole for the Rat Tail to stick out of.

That's a very 'GER' type of junction
It's a mirror version of Shelford Junction, just south of Cambridge, where the Kings Cross line diverges from the Liverpool Street line, so you have probably been through it Chuggy. There is a footbridge over the junction, so it's a good place to train spot whenever anything special heads into Cambridge from the Capital....
