Lgb Arosa Allegra - Mts3 And Massoth Handset.

Been away from the forum for a while, but could some one assist i have the new Allegra (Arosa blue) with factory sound running from a MTS3 set up with a Massoth hand set, I can’t get the whistle "F1" to work correctly, when activated the whistle goes though the sound but then seems to stick and carry on playing the last note until the function button is pressed again, all other sounds are fine for example the station announcement plays then stops as you would expect. is this something that the Allegra does or is it an issue with MTS/Massoth and the new Marklin chips.

You need to change the operation of the 'F1' button to be momentary (on whilst pressed), rather than toggle (one press on, one press off)..
You can do this on the Navigator, and it will be saved in memory for this particular loco.

On the new MFx decoders Button 1 gives the "long horn" (button on to button off) and is linked to Sound 1. The "Short Horn" (single beep per button cycle) is activated by Button 3 and is linked to Sound 2.

So no need to change the operation of Button 1 - unless you really want to.

That aside I would not advise trying with a combination of a MTS3 setup with a Massoth hand set unless you are feeling very brave!

Firstly you can't read the CV values with your setup and secondly the function maps on the MFx chips are grouped across a range of 4 different CVs and are quite complex to unravel unless you know your default values.

That aside congratulations on your new purchase and I hope you are enjoying it.

Using your Massoth Hand set (Navigator), you have to align the setup in both your MTS3 decoder and the Massoth hand set. In simple words, both should talk the same language, particularly if you want to manage the sounds.

I have the similar problem with several LGB locos and I fix it by playing with the CV29 (standard NMRA so you should work in both MTS and Massoth) bit 2 (14 steps or 28 steps) and the CV49 bit 0 (specific to Massoth therefore has to be managed in your Massoth Hand set) with the option Parallel/Serie data transmission.
I'm now using only 28 steps, Parallel data transmission and don't have any more problem.

If you don't know how to change the CV setup in the Massoth Navigator, I remember one forum member few months ago has explained in more details how to get it align.
