Some more pics from Sunday, including a DJB L&B "Yeo" newly converted to manual, repainted and lined out by Rhos H. Works, an Archangel Little Wonder and a TME Nesta.
Stewart Browne´s of Archangel´s new build Double Fairlie for the K&NWLR, as finished, painted and lined out by Matt Acton of Berry Hill Works, finally arrives on the line.
My last thirty secs would probably be spent trying to extinguish a gas fire underneath the NGG16. Twin burners are good in theory, but if one goes out and the gas - logically - continues to flow, sooner or later it´s going to burn. And around a minute after that pic it did. Tyres came off two wheels and superficial damage underneath. But nothing that can´t be mended.
No perm. damage and the locomotive has already been reviewed together with a knowledgable fellow-steamer and jointly declared "repairable" without too much trouble. Got me thinking about twin gas burners though. And might be buying a CO2 fire extinguisher to go with the present water one, which was a nice thought for my b´day a while back, but not really right for the job.
