Last weekend was Liberation 80. The whole island was out to celebrate in the various parishes with different events. St. Mary's Parish (where I live), had a big fair for locals - archery, tugs of war, free bbq, dog shows and I was invited to bring some trains down. Any excuse to get a layout down.
It seemed to be a hit and had lots of keen viewers (young and young at heart) throughout the day. It was 3 loops, laid on the grass with the inner loop running a starter set with a bit of track which the kids could control.
Weather was beautiful and I spent most of the afternoon sat on the grass, chatting with friends, drinking a beer while the trains went round.
