You are of course correct about Nemo's ace model, but I'm sure someone did the bike shed too - there again I could have seen it in one of the Euromagazines. My brain has gone to zap. Yet again. :wondering:
 
There was one on Ebay for a couple of hundred quid a year or two back. It was copied on this site and discussed. That might be what you remember.
 
No, I'm thinking Gartenbahn Profi doing a build several years ago when the kit came out and I still subscribed. :think:
 
Anyway, back to the modelling.

each panel has two sides, both on the same master panel.
These are lined up with the help of small holes milled in the plastic and glued together with the Plastic Weld.
A length of thin plastic rod is supplied to align the holes

The small rectangles of plastic take the chassis securing screws later.

Using my square I started to assemble the bodywork.

The bodywork came together pretty quickly.
The parts aligned up very well and this made assembly straight forward.

I guess if you'd have used a tinny of ale (emptied of course), then it might have ended up slightly on t'huh....
 
The empty tin of beer was too light,.It moved, so I had to borrow a Coke - cant stand it myself. Give me a beer anytime.
 
I continued with the bike racks and the steps today.
The step sides are laminated from no less than four pieces of styrene and the treads are beautifully milled. Very neat and accurate.

The bike racks are made from flat strips and tube. The flat strips are glued up to make angle and T sections. If your going to make one of these remember that you need the angles to be 'handed', i.e. a left and right.

The Chassis is being supplied by my 'Lake George and Boulder' tanker wagon. The tank will end up in my yard as an oil store.
The chassis didn't quite fit. I had to reduce the length of the buffer beams by a tiny amount to get them to fit between the corners of the bodywork. Then fitting is dead easy and the pre-milled holes all line up for screws.

The steps fix to the chassis, not the bodywork, and I placed the bike racks inside to get the effect.

Next up is fitting the strapping to the outside of the bodywork.
