H&MGR, a family railway in NZ

A stunning bunch of shots, I just wish some of those ferns and moss etc,. would grow round my railway to make it 'blend' a bit.

An air of tranquility.

A touch more tranquility today. Train spotting battery power today.

Jonny past the Hellebores that grow around Kakariki station yards.

Not the best shot but the shadows playing as the trains passed by fascinated this trainspotter

Then I tried to get all arty and catch the feeling of the motion:-

Well shall we just say it was a different idea and leave it at that X(
IMG_7671.JPG

But the favourite shot of the day wasn't exactly trains, it was the sun through the tress above the railway

Beautiful pictures John - yes, leave the high speed ones behind, that's not the character of your railway. The way that your trackbed has bedded in with moss et-all comes close to rural perfection.

Thanks John, yes they didn't really work how I wanted, just goes to show I take my share of duft piccies - you just don't usually see them

John as always...more haste....... less chaste.......

Your 'normal' pictures are always a delight to see.

Lovely photos in the winter sunshine, John. Yes the motion ones look a little out of place with the character of your line, but as said nature has bedded the track into the landscape beautifully.

nice to try, but the slow wins john

Great John, thanks. OK that fires me up to go and do something on the railway tomorrow. Won't be up to your standards, but I can dream....

 So it's moss you want then is it :Looser:
IMG_7685.JPG

Then moss you shall have
IMG_7688.JPG

Arh but seriously, thanks everyone for the constructive criticism, it gives more value to the comments of pictures you like when you feel free to tell you ones they don't like. That's what mates are for

Martino - I dream a lot :D

SWMBO's O&K was the main subject to day. Good to rotate all the battery powered stock to keep the batteries well cycled.
IMG_7684.JPG

A new form of testing - cycling your batteries
IMG_7679.JPG

Well it was good for my batteries anyway

something special happens when john test trains:thumbup:

Was a cracker of a winter day at the H&MGR today, though much of the spare sunshine hours was spent fitting the long awaited servo to Manawanui's regulator. Not that I'm complaining, cause when I got out into the garden to test the results, even though the sun dropped over the hills as 40PSI was raised, the test was a great success.
IMG_7715.JPG

Photos would have been warmer with some sun, but the steam plumes were great.. At times tall through the tress and at time lasting to be the length of the train. Excellent stuff.
IMG_7718.JPG

Inspireing john, a delight to the eye:thumbup:

Thanks Mike
Time today to do some more testing of Manawanui's regulator servo, it's a tough job but it has to be done:-
