Absolutely stunning pictures as usual John.
Your winter seems better than our summer.
The Dubs A seems to have a goodly load behind her, don't go working her too hard now.
Thanks Neil. And yes more than the Dub's usual load, though those ex GSM kit coaches at the back are pretty light. She does need looking after though, she really is my all time favourite
Simply superb JR. The log train a couple of pages back just blew my socks off, it looked so good. Please would you adopt me? I'm mostly housetrained now.
Adoption, mmm, I'll get back to you on that one 8|
Another steam up Sunday on the H&MGR. Steamed Leader first and having so much fun driving I didn't take any pictures. Manawanui was next, but gee the light goes fast on these mid winter afternoons, so sorry only grainy piccies to mark the day.
But rest assured I was having fun...
Was dark by the time everything cooled and put away but I didn't care I was very happy with the afternoons running. It was one of those days you wish you could share in more than just pictures with your mates.
Thanks James. There was something about the smell of the steam and steam oil more so today in the closeness of the winter afternoon; maybe the graininess goes a little way to portraying the feeling? Hehe, we need smell-a-vision
It means a lot to me that you all enjoy the pictures, helps makes up for being half a world away:wave:
Manawanui got to do a bit of work today. Another perfect winter day on the H&MGR
Drifting downhill coming off Nina's Trestle passing the Gangers Hut...
Passing the future sawmill site at Kakariki (one day I'll build it!)...
...and leaving Kakariki to pass under the lemon bush at the start of the long climb to Punga Cliffs...
reverse angle as Manawanui works hard passing under the lemon bush,
