H&MGR, a family railway in NZ

Thanks guys

Shawn, yes I agree a lumberjack would be perfect on your line.

And oh yes Alan, they sure are growning up. The Directors  turn 10 this month - gulp

be nice to them john, they get to choices your nursceing home..

Owwh, best buy them some more trains and keep them on side then :nail:

In the meantime SWMBO's O&K had a run afterwork. Well she was still at work so it was a sort of commemorative run

There was time for a chat with the bridge gang as evening approached.
IMG_7983.JPG

...was a pretty long chat mind, the lights fading lads... :-

...the sun was setting before they got moving again

That last pic - you wouldn't know it wasn't 12 inch to 1ft - lovely little loco:thumbup:

Now this is the way to end the working week. A steam up in the evening sun
Manawanui coming into Punga Cliffs

And leaving the north end of Punga Cliffs where the log siding branches off.

Through the ferns by the log siding.

Unfortunately the sun had gone by the time I had both Manawanui and Jonny running. A new thing for me, running a live steamer and another train. And didn't have one crash...wait till next time
IMG_8063.JPG

But did get one last shot of Manawanui coming out of the sawmill tunnel.

What a way to end the working week

agreed, great silhouette

The silhouette shot is indeed a great shot, but my personal favourite of those three is the first one, chatting with the bridge gang. You can almost hear the conversation.:thumbup:

Absolutely superb :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Nice one John. Bodes well for a good weekend.

Great photos !!

Thanks everyone

Saturday was a loverly spring day, warm and fine so after mowing the lawns I have a pleasant relax 3 or so hours weeding in and around the railway garden with a train running throughout to keep me company.

SWMBO's O&K and Binnie skip train making believe ballast was needed....
IMG_8065.JPG

...well ballast is needed in a few places but that is next weekends job!
IMG_8066.JPG

Nice warm light at this time of the year, and before the apple and silver birch trees come into leaf the sun gets into more places.

The woodsmen at the log loading siding discussing the likely increase in the summer workload. You may not two of the woodsmen are twins, we have several twins at the H&MGR ;)
