Yes, we seem to have more experience in the US with larger layouts and higher current requirements. The over the joiner clamps are hardly made any more, since they rely on the joiner "inside" to work... that gets oxidized and no amount of external clamping helps.
It was attractive to some at first, since you can just "add" them easily, but as always the easy way isn't always the best way.
Putting them on does not remove or stop any additional oxidation or dirt or grit.
