Massoth Melody Module - Problems

Hi all, I've got what seems to be a poorly Melody module. The unit was working fine but wouldn't read/write so I was unable to change to soundfile. Since then, its developed and now seems to not work or do anything Has anyone played with this unit and had any issues? Its probably one of the earlier units made, and as such is now well out of warranty...
