Building the Piko Rosenbach station kit.

there are a load of stickers supplied (looks like sticky back plastic - don`t know how weather proof). I have yet to add these but one thing I do know - It won`t be called Rosenburg.The stickers are in English, German and French.
A quick visit outside to get an idea on exact location.

In conclusion, I am well satisfied with this kit. There is ample detail. It`s fun to build and compared to some plastic kits, it`s not expensive.
As with most buildings, its under sized for the scale. but then buildings are massive and so compromise is probably essential.

A few people on the platform and a bit of `clutter` and I hope it will be `the business`.
I like fairly sedentary models of people, whilst action poses are entertaining they can look rather like a snap-shot.

Nice one Alan, mines probley 12 years old now and has lived outside since new, but every spring it gets a clean and bits glued back on that's fell off during the winter period. Did you glaze the windows, as they appear to be unglazed from your photos.
 
No glazing yet Steve. I might use rigid acrylic plastic sheet (I have some available). I don't like the look of the floppy plastic sheet supplied- nor the paper curtains! :o

Apparently, the paper curtains get eaten by the snails.. ??? :(
 
Must admit the paper curtains only lasted a year or two, but the glazing still going strong.
 
Nice clean build Steve. The printed stuff is pretty weather and UV resistant in my experience. Suggest mounting cut out items on some plasticard (there is usually some supplied in kit for that purpose) and either applying to building with supplied glue or the "Really Strong" silicon based glue. Sometimes a name board dangling from some fine chain cab look quite effective. Max.
 
Any updates on how this is holding up? I'm building this model now- one concern I have is water infiltration - there are some areas on the roof that don't fit quite flush and I'm concerned about water getting inside. Also did you mount to a base? Thanks!
 
It is bearing up very well. It does not have a base - just sits on the platform surface so I have no idea if the roof leaks - probably not as I sealed all internal joints with window mastic. It has taken one visit across the garden due to high winds and other than a little gutter damage (easily fixed) it survived really well. I didn't use paper curtains and the paper printed nameboards are only intended to be short lived - so I don't count them.
At the price (about £70 in the UK) it is recommended. The only reservation I would have is that too many people also have one!
 
I have mentioned this before but to save trips on all buildings well worthwhile to put a bit af ally angle inside the building on two sides then a pin drilled through the building and ally will keep nicely in place. Ally will be screwed to a base or platform as in Alan’s pic. My Rosenbach now resides inside a Shed after having been swopped out for a different building in the Garden. In truth I could not think where else to put it. Must do a pic to show its unlikely location.
