It was also the year when the minimum track radius was to be increased to a minimum of Radius 3. Now by metre gauge standards R3 is still ridiculously tight, but you will have noticed that the locos and stock on the Bredebahn were now maturing and at least these lengths of vehicle looked reasonable on R3 whereas they look ridiculous on R1.
Here's a set of pictures depicting replacement of the pointwork at one end of Honigfallen station. Loose laying in ballast is very handy when you are doing this kind of exercise - the great hand in the sky acts as the lifting crane, and then it's simply a matter of realignment and hacksawing the rail to fit (don't buy those expensive mini lengths, even if you can find them - just cut the rail, it's easy). Ballast, tamp and fettle, and enjoy!
