Bachmann 2-4-2 - Possible to remove bracket from bufferbeam?

Does anyone know if it is possible at all to remove this bracket from the front bufferbeam of Bachmann’s 2-4-2 Baldwin loco? Without being very brutal and making damages, of course…

I have one of these, and sliced it off, as it seems integral to the chassis.

Careful use of a razor saw may do it, but with great care from each angle so that screw detail not damaged even then a tricky job.
