No matter how good they are, garden railway videos on YouTube have a very limited audience, but a video posted less than 10 months ago has been watched an amazing 1,000,000 times in over 200 countries around the world. What can have attracted such a large audience?

Well what an achievement, certainly shows the popularity of a certain Blue Engine and his Friends.

On a slightly more serious note, the Ballast you have used looks very fine. I have been using the stuff that I got from Andy Rush. Sadly where he sourced it has been taken to his grave and I am trying to get some more. Looks very like the sort of stuff used on Roofing Felt and indeed that is where Andy sourced his from. Presumably you have a supplier near by?

G'day Chris. Thanks for taking the time to watch and for your great comment. We have real fun thinking up the stories, story-boarding, filming and editing. As well as having a well known character featuring in it, I think a lot of its popularity is because it has a story, with a beginning, middle and end. Both of the award winning entries in the G Rail 2015 video competition were based on stories, and this impressed the judges.

Thanks John. I agree that the ballast is just about right. Unfortunately I got it from Steve Warrington so the source is no longer available. I agree that it is like the roofing felt gravel and I know someone that has used this. I've got half a bag left but to eke it out I wash and re-cycle old ballast.
