This is where it all started for me, I was scrolling through youtube and came across a guy building one from scratch
after a few episodes I was convinced I could do this, and set out to find some free on line plans... well if I was going
to stuff it up, I didn't want to have paid for the plans to do it. I must say I was hooked right from the start, printed out all
my plans in black & white as working plans and coloured set for the folder.
The hunt was on, searched through all my scrap... I mean off cuts.. the mild steel I had was too thick for the chassis
so I ended up the proud owner of a full sheet of 2mm mild steel sheet, cut in 3 for ease of handling :think:

Had a job getting your attachments to appear but when they did, I saw what a fantastic job you are doing! I look forward to more!
 
In the last three photos you can see the boiler bushes are in and plugged ready to do a first pressure test ( in house that is most of it is just sitting there
for the photo op. The Smoke box is made from the thread insert of a Fire hydrant Landing valve, the smoke box door is the Jumper valve ( washer ) from
the same valve, the by-pass lubricator is from the valve spindle of the same valve, and the chimney is made from 2 plumbing fittings I had laying around.
 
Great stuff Alan, sheet of 2mm hot rolled is not cheap, $200 down here for 1200 x1800 mm. I am getting one to build 2 bridges over winter, too hot in summer for welding and grinding.

Yeah your not wrong Stewie, plus they slugged me to cut it. I could put a stamp on one of the pieces and send it down to you LOL
probably cost more in freight than buying a whole sheet, and I know what you mean about too hot for welding and grinding.
