0-3 switch in a stater engine --- remind me.

The switch in side goes 0-3 .
Can you remind me what each # is for ?
Does this have a smoke unit?

I think that the cab switches actually only have three positions, not four - standard LGB manual indicate 0 = all power off, 1 = Lights and smoke on, motor off, 2 = everything on. Position (1) is for parking a loco on an unisolated track section (when using DC).

When using DCC, the switch is out of circuit and doesn't do anything.

Some have three positions but others have four. The fourth position (numbered 3) is for sound on/off. This might be present but ineffective if the mould is used for both silent and factory sound fitted examples.

I find that position 0 is all off in the LGB DC powered engines, position 1 may leave the lights on and highest number is usually everything on.

Before I rewired #10 the loco had a four position switch in the cab.
0- all off
1- lights & smoke
2- lights, smoke, motor
3- lights, smoke, motor, & sound (which i would have had to install myself)

That all makes perfect sense, because if you have an analogue DC sound loco there needs to be a way of running it with the sound off after the neighbours have gone to bed!
