I doubt if any one can help me but, I would like to obtain a Pearce L & B 45mm (Early type not Southern) and SWAP with a Shawe 45mm live steam coal fired (Roundhouse) Radio Controlled.

James.

Thank you for the info. Yes, the second hand Yeo that Back 2 Bay 6 has seems to be exactly what I am after. Is the price about right. ?? Perhaps I will be able to sell my Shawe L & B on its own.

James.

I don't know about the price, looks a bit healthy. These Pearse loco's always seem to attract a premium - very nice out of production product, much sought after and popular prototype. About a year ago I saw a Southern livery R/C one at GRC that was well used and needed a little remedial work on the paint, asking price was £1,900, it went for £1600 eventually. Ask Steve at Back2bay6, perhaps he can do a deal for you, PX? (Ask if it is a commission sale, perhaps the owner will move on price)

As suggested you coud wait for the Accucraft Manning Wardle (1-2 years) but it is the later flat backed Lew not the earlier curved backsheet Taw and Exe. Repaints of any existing or future product are not a problem, Lightlines did brilliant job on my GRS Manning Wardle panelling and lining for me (they will do the base colour too). Ask them for a quote.

Best of luck.

Thank you Maxi for the info. Unfortunately I have the Pearce LEW that I bought as my first engine back in 1998 ish, and I can honestly say that it is by far my best and easiest runner. Hence the reason I would like another. (early type)

I will do as you suggest and give Steve a ring at back2bay6.:onphone:

Regards. James.

Thank you all.

Just to say that I have now obtained an early type Pearce L & B 'TAW' and have decided to keep my John Shawe coal fired 'EXE'

Regards James.
