First of all, thanks for all the kind words guys. It helps .

Been busy again over the last 2 days. Yesterday I did a bit more to the town section, painted the white lines on the road and finished the edging.........

Posted by: yb281 Feb 17 2009, 03:57 PM
......... also got all the bridge section covered in felt and screwed the legs in place.

Then today I built this .....................

This will become 41MU, RAF Ffynnon Garw. Plenty of detailing in mind for this place including, maybe, models of (a younger) me and Gareth in our No.2 uniforms. We might need a Group Captain to be Station Commander too? I wonder who that could be? .

i know i just posted this in the coffee room but

how do you go about felting around corners, yours are not as tight as ours but still the same principal i guess

Work done, back killing, it was time for a quick play ............. sorry, test .

V52 backs on to it's train (not very prototypical - trains will mostly be vans for stores etc. with the odd wagon of coal for the boiler room).

Posted by: yb281 Feb 17 2009, 04:06 PM
Pulls the train forwards on to the main line ............. again, not very prototypical. Should probably have a head-shunt.

Posted by: yb281 Feb 17 2009, 04:08 PM
Before setting back on to the other siding to pick up the brake van.

Posted by: yb281 Feb 17 2009, 04:08 PM
And pulls away into the town section.

Stopping the traffic as it crosses the road.

Posted by: yb281 Feb 17 2009, 04:10 PM
The end .

i think mell, given the space limitations, the railwaywould operate as you do, ie, no head shunt, just carefull running

There's a half R1 curve between the 2 points that was a vitally important piece mate. Got it delivered by Lanky Couriers PLC.com .

Sorry but commanding a MU in Wales would be demotion.

I'd rather be flying Heliochopters....

Mel
Are you going to motorise the point by the water tower to save you reaching over - or leave on the spring to let locos push through and run round ?

It's already motorised Paul .

Re the Corex board, I've got stacks of it if any Madder wants some (pick up only).

Yes please from the Group Captain Mel.

I'll send my driver, Fuller, to collect a sheet one day....

and me too if the courier has room

Even better, I could send you in the 44 tonner Scania....

The courier may not have room, as he requires some for himself.

Yer I know, just thinking of me self

Impecunious narrow gauge railways couldn't afford the luxury of head-shunts

There's some nice work been done there Mel
