Then today I built this .....................

This will become 41MU, RAF Ffynnon Garw. Plenty of detailing in mind for this place including, maybe, models of (a younger) me and Gareth in our No.2 uniforms. We might need a Group Captain to be Station Commander too? I wonder who that could be? .

Sorry but commanding a MU in Wales would be demotion.

I'd rather be flying Heliochopters....

Sorry Giz, you know how the RAF works ............... if you're cut out to fly choppers, you'll end up as a storeman in a Welsh MU .

Got some more jobs done today despite an early rain shower.

First, finished edging all the new baseboards. This has been toned down a bit now with a coat of green preservative.

I needed some security fencing to protect RAF Ffynnon Garw. Piko do a kit, but it's in the region of £40!! So I made my own with some old aviary wire and stripwood I found in the garage. Cost - B all .

Moral of the story ............ don't throw anything away .

I also needed some more sections of walling, so I used the off-cuts from the edging. Stonework scribed with a chisel then dunked in preservative.

The former diesel re-fuelling point from Wetton shed has found a new home.

Must be re-cycling day .

Finally, a few trains ran too. Railbus reflected in a puddle on Gooey High Street.

Had a great day today. Our friends (fellow garden railwayers) came round for a coffee in the morning and a mega running sesh insued, aided by lovely weather .

So eyes down, here we go - Railbus waits for the right away at Gooey while the diesel shunter waits to get started.

Meantime, the little shunter's big brother is assembling a per way train.

Steam tram runs along the verge with it's ex-Bolton Corporation coach .

Corpet waits to depart Wetton with a goods working.

Railbus stops to pick up hikers at Castle Halt.

Posted by: yb281 Feb 20 2009, 05:20 PM
Now its time for the per way train to pull into the town section.

Posted by: yb281 Feb 20 2009, 05:20 PM
Edging across the road.

The little skirted shunter has a couple of wagons for the RAF depot. A load of coal ..................

Posted by: yb281 Feb 20 2009, 05:23 PM
............. and some "stuff" .

Posted by: yb281 Feb 20 2009, 05:24 PM
