The Fire Tower is now in place, mounted on a very big aerated block to give it some height, which the shrubs will then hide in due course.
And I have collected a few road side rocks for the tunnel entrances when I get round to it.

Wow you certainly have made a lot of Railway in what looks to be a modest Garden. But it does not look cluttered. Super job.

Cheers, I always aimed to have a railway in a garden, rather than a garden somewhere amongst a railway.

Phil, your 1:12 gradient is pretty close to my max 1:10.
I found that whilst steam locos could get themselves up and down in a well mannered way, it was when there was a load behind them, such as a few cars, that the problems arose.

Diesels, especially traction tyred ones, had less problems but still needed multi heading to haul a decent size train up the gradient and to also be able to hold the string of cars back when going down the descent.
Besides always multiple heading trains I got around to motorising some rolling stock to 'invisibly help' a single loco to be able to tackle the slope.

Rocks in place but I do need a few more, and some cement to point them in. Its coming on though.

Last batch of ''free'' road side rocks to help blend the new spur into the garden environment. It does not look quite so obvious now. So storm Frank permitting I will get the rocks pointed in above the tunnel and then paint the tunnel mouths with my masonry paint.

Is that a Weeping Cherry up to the right of the bird feeder, in the last photo ? SWMBO planted one years ago and it is beautiful in spring and summer. I'll bet the trunk is now 8" in diameter.

Erm, im not sure. I will have to consult. I think its a 'standard' willow that can't get any taller, its grafted into the trunk with wax I think.

A trip to York and PS Models has resulted in my wallet been a little lighter, with the purchase of a new loco, with DCC Sound.
This loco seems quite popular at the moment.
