The Newly Renamed B&CV Railway

Due to the Inclement weather permanent way stabilisation works have taken longer than anticipated.
Following a heavy overnight downpour 'Stretton' was despatched to inspect the current work area.

And a wider view of the works being undertaken at this location

A bit of a landslide there Colin I 'm amazed it hasn't washed away after all the rain over the last 24hrs

The permanent way department made some progress with the stabilisation works today

It can now be seen that the oil terminal is no longer accessible from Quay station, this area being next on the track enhancement list.

Some more woodwork illustrates the area of land 'grabbed'

Work is progressing slowly due to outside pressures but a day with nothing else to do brought some results if not the hoped for return to a continuous run.

And as close as is safe to the unguarded 'gap'

Cheers gents
The line running along those blocks will have a flower bed behind it and the engine shed in front of it so it needs to be solid!

Thanks guys, I certainly do have a plan. It just might take some time
A little late in the day ( literally) but the B&CVR is now a continuous run again.

The maintenance crew seen here carrying out checks on the contractors work prior to allowing general operations again.

Fairly extensive testing of the new alignment and revised gradient has been done today. Although a good deal of cosmetic work is still to do, work can now be started elsewhere on the rebuild.

Looking good Colin :)

Thanks Rich
I'm going to follow your advise and move the conifers in the next few days, I'm not hopeful they're going to survive the move but I''ll be gentle with them and you never know!
