The Newly Renamed B&CV Railway

Overhead wires are my first choice because above all I like electric locomotives. Until a few years ago, I still had catenary wires strung over a portion of my railway. But my railway, being at ground level, is also a garden. The maintenance just got to be too much for me to handle. And it was proving to be an issue with the head gardener, not to mention grandchildren.

The track maintenance gang has been out today carrying out remedial work as required prior to resumption of full services.
Whilst there are areas that still require attention clearance was given for the railways new passenger train to venture toward Milburn in the name of route clearance.

With most of the railways steam fleet still undergoing winter repair/maintenance work the Directors 'pet' loco Elise was steamed to assist in some drainage works.

Promised investment in the line continues with some additional coaching stock arriving. A post van will run as required with this rake when it enters full service.

A slight increase in outside temperature enabled allowed for testing of the recently acquired loco "Stretton"

It's lawn edging,I was going to paint it but I didn't get around to it. The bridge is getting a new deck over the next few weeks hopefully so I'll paint it then weather permitting!

The bank holiday weekend should see the start of works at Quay station and the oil terminal which will allow for more flexible operation.

With the bridge stripped back to just a deck some track laying was carried to confirm fit etc before the new deck is cut and fitted.
