For anyone who is interested, the all-black DR version of the Franzburg is now readily available on German eBay too; this is just one of many listings...

The appear to be a couple of detail differences between the Franzburg and its DR liveried cousin - one or two of the boiler fittings seem different, and the DR one has no top lamp (though the square socket for it is still there, which looks a little ugly to me).
