As the weathers getting a bit nicer, some of the winter rolling stock purchases had a test run.

The bulkhead flat cars are USA trains, and depending on your imagination can either be bogie narrow gauge flat cars or American flat cars.

It was a nice way to pass the time, just watching a train a trundle round.

Here's a update and a few pictures as everyone loves pictures

I made the most of a the lovely evening sun and had a train trundling around

I've also been working on a extension, which will take the form of 2 reverse/balloon loops laid on top of each other,

It's been slow going but will look nice when I'm finished and it will have aluminium bridge as a centre piece

Here a round up of recent activity

Over winter the building of a conservatory resulted in the lifting on the line.
This weekend I manage to finally rebuild the line and successfully run a test train :)

I also prefer the new track layout, as it has lots of nice meandering curves and another passing loop

What started of as a brakevan special, ends up as a complete train by the last picture

More work has slowly been happening, the site of the proposed return loops has been made into scenic storage sidings.

Based on current progress the loops would't have been finished for several years so they have been shelved for now

As can been the railways own livery is appearing on more freight stock.

Also a castle has appeared, as a scenic feature, it seemed much more attractive option than a flower bed as it's much less maintenance!

Here’s the the latest in my very sporadic postings, but took advantage of the brief bit of winter sun, to run a train and test out the latest purchases and current modelling projects,

The loco Ian one of 2 tender ottos I have, and the last coach is a modified Bachmann Jackson sharp coach

Their a work in progress but it’s nice to see them out of the shed, especially when you have a rake of 4 coaches to do!

Otto looks like he has borrowed a Tender from a Welsh Highland Railway NG15. Nice way to convert to Battery Power.

Indeed that was the rough inspiration, as I quite like the idea of a narrow gauge loco with a large long distance tender, just like the ng15

I liked the idea so much, I have a second one under construction, will, post photos when it's more presentable

In Europe most narrow gauge lines only travelled a short distance between stops where they could take water as required
The South African NG 15s were (are) nicknamed Kalaharis which explains a lot!

Just to show some of the more recent photos

Here’s a few snowy ones, I made care to ensure that the track was free of weeds and obstructions before the snow arrived, it was simply a case of loco on and run!
