Now if you stike a datum midway between the W irons and cut the ends off the chassis 92.5mm (less a bit for the buffer beams) from this point you should end with this, with the body sitting tickety boo on the chassis with the buffer beams re fitted
Now it was at this point that I decided that this wagon was going to be used to pull an Accucraft wagon which of course has chopper couplings, so out comes Mr Razor Saw and off comes the LGB centre buffer. I then formed a loop from some copper rod, dipped it into Carrs Metal Blacking and fitted the to the buffer beam.
Seems to work a treat but it is yet to be test in the garden but my good friend Mel has suggested fitting a three link chain onto the LGB buffer beam to hook over the chopper coupling - work in progress.
I was quite pleased with the outcome of this project as it gives the wagon a more British outline feel
