And remove the body and bogies

Now cut the buffer beams off the ends of the chassis veeeeery carefully and put to one side

Now if you stike a datum midway between the W irons and cut the ends off the chassis 92.5mm (less a bit for the buffer beams) from this point you should end with this, with the body sitting tickety boo on the chassis with the buffer beams re fitted:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I had some plastruct tubing to hand which was an exact fit for the pivot holes in the bogies as above piccie

Now it was at this point that I decided that this wagon was going to be used to pull an Accucraft wagon which of course has chopper couplings, so out comes Mr Razor Saw and off comes the LGB centre buffer. I then formed a loop from some copper rod, dipped it into Carrs Metal Blacking and fitted the to the buffer beam.

Seems to work a treat but it is yet to be test in the garden but my good friend Mel has suggested fitting a three link chain onto the LGB buffer beam to hook over the chopper coupling - work in progress.

I was quite pleased with the outcome of this project as it gives the wagon a more British outline feel

Absoutely, Mike's getting to be a right techy

:thumbup:a nice conversion off the waggon bram!!
we likes photos,we do..

Lovely job Bram. The sooner LGB bring back that reasonably priced stock for scratchbuilding, the better!

Thanks for the kind comments, I have a couple more of these wagons that I will now "convert"
